Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Monday, January 4, 2016, Clara Belle Gillingham of Ochre Pit Cove, age 88 years. Predeceased by son: David; parents: John and Mary Anne Rixon; brother: James (Rita); three sisters: Stella (Fred) Coish, Lena (Harry) Halliday and Mary (Berkley) Reynolds; brother-in-law: Harold Crummey. Leaving to mourn, husband: Maxwell; four grandchildren: Alex (Tara), Ashley, Kelsey and Jonathon; great-grandchildren: Tyson and Lillian; sister: Evelyn Crummey; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Tuesday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Interment in the United Cemetery, Ochre Pit Cove. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Clara Belle Gillingham Memorial Fund c/o Noel’s Funeral Home, 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9.
