Obituary of Melvin H. Penney

(Dec. 4, 1947 – Feb. 1, 2016) Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, February 1, 2016, Melvin H. Penney of Salmon Cove, age 68 years. Predeceased by parents: Herbert and Vivian. Leaving to mourn, wife: Unetha; three daughters: Tina (Glenn) Clarke, Bristol’s Hope, Connie (Phonse) St. George, Heart’s Desire and Tanya (Ricky Trickett), Pouch Cove; four grandchildren: Nicole (Christopher), Melanie, Crystal (Saige) and Katie (Dylan); four great-grandchildren: Amber, Hallie, Carley and Amelia; brothers: Clayton, Victoria, Gerald, Salmon Cove, David, St. John’s and Ross, Nova Scotia; sisters: Hilda (Jim) Templeman, St. John’s, Marie Lamontague, Ontario and Dorothy (Wilf) Budden, Victoria; step-brothers Fred, Salmon Cove and Walter, Ontario; step-sister: Aggie Hunt, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove.
