January 21, 1935 - May 6, 2016 Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, May 6, 2016, Herman King of Victoria, age 81 years. Predeceased: 1st wife: Patricia; parents: Cecil and Winnifred; brothers: Chesley, Albert and Don; sister: Rosalie Howell; sister-in-law: Cynthia King; brothers-in-law: Roy Rose and Fred Howell. Leaving to mourn, wife: Jesse; one daughter: Carolyn (Raymond) Greeley, Upper Island Cove; two sons: Paul (Debbie), Victoria, and John, Ontario; one step-daughter: Brenda (David) Barrett, Spaniard’s Bay; four step-sons: Chesley (Cathy) Smith, St. John’s, Geoffrey (Kim) Smith, Spaniard’s Bay, Paul (Carolann) Smith, Upper Island Cove, and Christopher (Krista) Smith, Alberta; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers: Cecil (Sylvia) and Gilbert (Diane), both of Victoria; three sisters: Vera (Derrick) Penney, Salmon Cove, Ruby (Wallace) Snow, Freshwater, and Louise Rose, Salmon Cove; sisters-in-law: Melvina King, Victoria, and Florence King, St. John’s; also a number of other relatives and friends. At Herman’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Inurnment in the United Church Cemetery, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Herman King Memorial Fund, c/o Noel’s Funeral Home, 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9.
