Passed suddenly away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, December 17, 2016, Rita Slade of Salmon Cove, age 75 years. Predeceased by parents: Robert and Minnie Penney. Leaving to mourn, husband: George; daughter: Cavelle (Ivan) Reynolds, Salmon Cove; two sons: Paul (Connie), Salmon Cove and Curtis (Colleen), Victoria; four grandchildren: Katrina (Matthew), Alicia (Andrew), Courtney (Kodie), and Joshua; step-grandson: Mitchell (Amy); sister-in-law: Mina Slade, Salmon Cove; special nephew: Dave (Barb) Slade; special friends: Keith and Gloria Taylor; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church and Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
