Obituary of Sterling Slade

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, January 26, Sterling Slade of Salmon Cove, age 75 years. Predeceased by parents: John and Elexy; sister: Phyllis; infant brother: Barry and brother-in-law: Douglas Parsons. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 58 years, Bertha; two daughters: Sheila (Stephen) Anthony, Spaniard’s Bay and Lisa (Chris) Rodgers, Salmon Cove; three sons: Terry (Patsy), Glen (Annie), and Gregory, all of Salmon Cove; daughter-in-law: Dawn Noel, Carbonear; seven grandchildren: Rebecca (Robert), Sarah (Kevin), Aimee (Mitchell), Frankie, Joshua, Hilary, and Zackery; two great-grandchildren: Mason and Ally; six brothers: Harold (Laura) and Ralph, both of Salmon Cove, William (Carolann) and Matthew (Dorothy), both of Broad Cove, Walter (Wanda), Salmon Cove, and John (Stephanie), Victoria; three sisters: Florence (Junior) Trickett, Perry’s Cove, Harriet Parsons, Carbonear, and Doreen (Scott) Noel, Freshwater, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Friday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, January 29 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church and Cemetery, Salmon Cove.
