Obituary of Joseph G. 'Joe' Noel

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, February 17, 2017, Joseph G. 'Joe' Noel of Carbonear, age 94 years. A prominent businessman of Carbonear, founder of Noel Motors and Transit, Noel’s Convenience, and Noel’s Turkey Farm. Predeceased by parents: George and Gertrude; sister: Ina Taylor; baby brother: Lloyd; brothers: Ted (Mabel), Leroy (Florence), and Les (Marie); sister-in-law: Dorothy Noel, and brother-in-law; James Fitzpatrick. He leaves to mourn, his wife: Emma; daughter: Dawn Noel, Carbonear; son: Kerry (Carol Ann), Carbonear; two cherished grandchildren: Keri Ann and Ryan Joseph; two brothers: Pat (Betty), Freshwater, Carbonear and Gilbert (Gillian), Carbonear; sister: Thelma Fitzpatrick, St. John’s; son-in-law: Terry Slade, Salmon Cove; also many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, February 20 at 11:00 a.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Inurnment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Kiwanis Music Festival, P.O.
