Obituary of John Edgar Swain

Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, August 10, 2017, John Edgar Swain of Perry's Cove, age 76 years. Predeceased by parents: Earl and Drucella; sister-in-law: Jeanette. Leaving to mourn, wife: Evelyn; four daughters: Linda (Leslie) Slade, Salmon Cove, Tina Murphy, Riverhead, Hr. Grace, Wanda (Byron) Clarke, Victoria, and Tanya (Scott) Antle, Edmonton, AB; one son: Wesley (Jennifer), Perry’s Cove; eleven grandchildren: Michael, Chantelle, Matthew, Mitchell, Melissa, Kody, Jordan, Joshua, and Nolan, Rilan, and Leah (predeceased by their mother, Jennifer Kelsey); two brothers: Melvin and Joseph (Valetta); six sisters: Rosalind (Andrew) Butt, Maxine (Bill) Peckham, Mildred Swain, Diane (Harold) Peach, Jane (Derm) O'Leary, and Jean (Keith) Penney; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Friday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Sunday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, August 13 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Perry's Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
