Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, Joan L. King of Carbonear, age 66 years. Predeceased by parents: Joseph and Rosanna Hoyles; brother: Jacob. Leaving to mourn, husband: Harold; one daughter: Kimberly King, Kelligrews; one son: Harold (Sarah), Saskatoon, SK; four grandchildren: Samantha, Keearah, Daniel, and Ada; five sisters: Verna Canning, Helen Stewart, Selma Beaudoin, Annie Hoyles, and Bernice Hoyles; special friend: Sue Sutton; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on  Thursday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Friday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Joan L. King Memorial Fund, c/o Noel’s Funeral Home, 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9.
