I was very sorry to hear of Mr Hogan’s passing, feels like the end of an era. The Hogan business and drive in loomed pretty large in my childhood. I was just a little girl and Mr Hogan could be a bit loud and intimidating but he put up with us tracking sand into the store and arguing with each other how we were going to spend our entire 25c and counting out our candy. I think he had eyes in the back of his head! Now as an adult I marvel at how hard the whole family worked, how patient he was with all us children and what a determined business man he was. To the Hogan family. It is with deep sadness we send this message . I,Eileen, got to know Vince while he was visiting Chris, (Mullaly) , at our home in Northern Bay. He was such a gentle soul who expressed a great love for his late wife. You could see the love in his eyes as a tear fell on his cheek and we will miss him dearly coming around. Our family members are profoundly sad to hear of the loss of Vincent. He will be remembered by myself and my sisters as a true and trusted friend of the Noonans. My sisters and I will cherish his quick wit, his love of family and community. He and his entire family will remain as a source of fond memories of our visits home to Northern Bay and Gull Island.
