Maxine and extended family of Wilson Sorry to see that Wilson has made his exit from the stage of life. As can be seen from the tributes Wilson was highly regarded in his Community and beyond. He was a leader among his co workers and was a dedicated and highly regarded Supervisor. His low key demeanour and motivational ability were traits he brought to his work. Maxine and family I was so saddened to hear of Mr Wilsons passing. He was such a kind man ., who always spoke of maxine and his children of whom he was very proud off. When he would come to irving to get a ice cream he always had a smile and was always there to help if you needed anything done. We will miss him at the store. You were my best friend for 65 years. Always there when I needed you. From playing hockey on Clarke’s Gully and Mark’’s garden, trouting in Jump Gully’s, hanging out at Hubert’s, standing up at my wedding, building our shack in Markland, many boil-ups., taking care of my house for 10 mths every year, just to name a few. For 30 years you were the first to meet me at the airport and last to say goodbye. You were always there. You were much more than a friend. Maxine, Sherry, Dawn, Melvin, Andrew, The Layden and Porter families. I was so saddened to hear of Wilson's passing. Over the last 20 years, I've had the privilege to work with a lot of people as a member of the Victoria Council. One of the most respected persons in this group will always be Wilson. His straight forward, no excuse , help everyone, give a %110 at all times to anything he was involved in, especially the VVFD, and his fellow citizens were at the top of his list when it came to his Volunteer work in Victoria. He would go out of his way to help various other groups , whether it was cooking or selling tickets or other forms of fundraising, he was there. The most noticeable part of his character was his ability to deal with any problem head on and at the same time keep everyones best interests at heart. I could go on talking about his many attributes forever but I will say that I've had a great working relationship as a Councillor, Deputy Mayor and Mayor with Wilson and he always represented his VVFD, Town and especially his family with honor and Pride! On behalf of the citizens, staff and council members of Victoria. I want to express our gratitude for his many years of service to his town and our most sincere condolences to his family.
