Obituary of Gennie M. Slade

Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, December 18, 2017, Gennie M. Slade of Salmon Cove, age 84 years. Predeceased by husband: Isaac; parents: Jeremiah and Mary Dalton; step-mother: Catherine; sister: Frances; brothers: Vincent, Richard, George, William, and Donald; son-in-law: Nelson Coish. Leaving to mourn, four daughters: Gloria (George) Powell, Salmon Cove, Carol Ann (Fabian) O'Flaherty, Northern Bay, Barbara (Carson) Milley and Audrey Slade, both of Salmon Cove; one son: Donald (Kelly), Salmon Cove; seven grandchildren: Jason (Dione), Adam, Mark (Pam), Paul, Liam, Alison (Calvin) and Andrew (Natalie); six great-grandchildren: Lydia, Avery, Jacob, Jane, Kate, and Luke; sisters-in-law: Emily, Alice, Ida, Doris, and Eliza; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, December 21 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
