I only met Greg briefly on a visit to Newfoundland. I was going there to see Brian and Connie, learn about their background and meet their extended family. Greg was certainly a standout! I was hungover and Greg gave me a beer, and then another, and before too long I felt good. Greg had a great vibe. He was playing music loud and cooking something yummy on the bbq. I really liked his energy. It is certainly sad to know that his presence from this world is now missing. I am glad that I got to meet him, even though it was short.
We send our love and deepest sympathy to the family,
we are thinking of you all. Love Gaz, Wen, Naya and Judd

Niki and family: Donna and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Greg's sudden passing. I had the pleasure of working with Greg for many years at the Holyrood Generating station. He had a positive attitude and an outlook on life that was second to none. Many years ago he did a painting for me of Donna's family home that still hangs in our living room. It's meaning has now become more special than ever. Take care and God bless.

To say we are saddened and will miss this quiet, gentle man wouldn’t quite do justice to express the feelings we have today. To us Greg was always there, unassuming, in the shadows but still a beacon of light for his family and our community. A great neighbour and friend, Greg was constantly present. Forever on our street he would appear with his snow blower and shovel as soon as the storm abated. This man didn’t make much noise about himself but he accomplished much! Being humble must have come easy to Greg Parsons despite his many talents so obvious to us all. Our condolences go out to Niki, Connor , Liam, Carol and the Hearn Family.

There are no words to express the loss of such a great person, having worked with Greg for 20 plus years and the last 10+ years sitting in the same room you become more then co-workers you become family! You share stories, you are there in good times and bad and Greg was always the one to be there no matter what. He would be the one to walk in every morning with the Big Old GOOD MORNING laugh and say what’s good we’re at Friggen work and could be off golfing! He had many talents as everyone said, I’d hear him talking about raspberry pie and think it was good to eat but it was some sort of electronic device. He could literally talk to you about anything, from electronics to my cricut machine for scrapbooking (which he always said get a silhouette) because he had one for crafts lol to sharing recipes! Nikki we always heard him giving you a shopping list so he could cook up a fine scoff, we know he got that talent from his mom because he would always bring in a treat that Mom made! There’s no harm to say our office will NEVER be the same! He was counting down to retiring and we would joke that we’d have to call him for a laugh when he retired to keep us going! We’d be sitting at our desk and he could break out in any type of song you can imagine, there were many times when he broke out in hymn of “when the roll is called up yonder”; well buddy it was called much too soon for you but I’m sure you’re there singing!
I’ll miss the joking, laughing, singing, your keen wit and just your all around good nature! You always tormented Chris about his plain not so fashionable personality, like Chrissy cannot wear Flashy RED SNEAKERS, which Chris always referred to as Greg Parson sneakers and you tortured him about it! There’s too many memories, all I can say you were THE BEST! You would laugh at the many tears we’ve shed saying we’re all foolish but buddy you’ll be missed, you’ve had a lasting impact and I NEVER saw you in a bad mood! Nikki you’ve lost your partner and boys you have lost your Teacher of everything in life but we can see he taught you well in the years you had him! Mrs Parsons he was always concerned for you and always said to me when asking about you; Mudders on the go! Keep doing what he would want you too!!!! RIP BUDDY I’ll miss you!

To the Parsons family,
On behalf of our family, we are indeed sorry for your loss. Greg was a man of many talents and many interests. He was very loving and giving to his family and to myself, Greg has many accomplishments in his life that were expressed through his interests, excelling at so many things such as music, art, technology. He was an amazing drummer and a delight to listen to even when he was just practicing at home when I would visit, He was very artistic, and he even made me a few things using his crafty mind and talent. Greg’s accomplishments extend outside of the skills, talents and work to his family.
Greg and Nikki worked together to raise two fine and very capable men, both whom I am privileged to say I am very close with, and who I look at with high regard. The brothers are very much like their father in that they are always down for a joke or are always able to bring a good mood to a group just with their presence. There is also of course the fact that they can always be counted on to be there for anyone. Greg was very proud of the accomplishments made by both these men, and it can be seen through his smile and stature in all photos he has with his two sons.
When reminiscing through all of the years of memories I have of Greg there are too many to list and a few that really pop into my head that I hold close to my heart from years ago. I remember way back in 2002 when the first spider-man movie came to theaters Connor and I were just 4 years old, and we went to watch it and we were in love with it and the character. Greg seen this as an opportunity to give us something unique and cool to go with our newfound interest. He painted a spider-man character that was not on a piece of paper but one that was much more long lasting and impressive. This is something that I still have no idea how he did it so fast and professionally. To this day it remains in my old bedroom window where I was so excited to put it after he gave it to me.

I know there is not much that can be said to lighten the burden you all must be going through right now. I was shocked and sadden to hear of his passing. I worked with Greg for almost 25 years at Holyrood Instrument Shop. He entertained us many times with his sense of humor and quick wit when we needed it the most. But one thing I remember the most, was the way he cared for my own two children when we all vacationed so many years ago in Florida. The patience he had with them and me. I knew he would be a great dad to some lucky children and he was to Conner and Liam. Like he was a great husband to Niki…

Niki, Liam, Conner and Family – I am so very sorry to hear of, my friend, Greg’s passing; my condolences to you all. I’ve known Greg for almost 30 years and we have worked on many many projects together at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station. I always enjoyed his kind and jovial personality while being really smart and able to get great work done all of the time – a model for all of us to follow. I remember fondly the trips that we took to Montreal and Denver for training and factory testing of new equipment – Greg always had a plan for each day that we all followed along with; a true leader. I have spent many hours in the Plant working with Greg at all hours of the night and I can tell you that there was no better Technologist that I have ever worked along side – a dedicated, intelligent, problem solving company man in every respect.
Greg was a true gentleman and I will miss him very much.

So he always brought extra for me lol. I have a picture Greg took as I sat beside him in the golf cart eating one of his sandwiches he made for me...
I miss my cousin but mostly I'll miss my friend....i am so sorry Niki, Liam, Conner and Aunt Carol for you loss

To Nikki, Connor and Liam, I am so sad and heartbroken to hear about Greg's passing. Greg will be missed but never forgotten. When I spoke with Greg a few weeks back, we joked about slicing golf balls in the woods at Pitcher's Pond and all the laughs we've had over the years playing golf. Greg was always up for a laugh and always knew how to have fun. My greatest sympathies on your loss.

Niki and family, so sorry and heartbroken to hear of Greg’s passing. I had the privilege of working with Greg directly when he came to Whitbourne for a break from his Holyrood position. To say that he was well liked is an understatement, he set the gold bar for how an employee should be but more important he showed us the true meaning of what a human being should act like. All the courses on respect and dignity could use his actions as a yardstick of how to do it successfully. As a coworker he was the perfect student but in the end he taught me more than I could ever hope for, my respect for him never once flinched in our time together. Nothing can be said to ease your collective pain and my prayer is that your memories will help get you through it. The picture was from a boilup we enjoyed after working in the Paradise River Generating plant. I will treasure it and my memories of him for all time. Please accept mine and Florence’s condolences and rest assured you are in our every thought and prayer. Until we meet again sir Godspeed.

Haven’t seen him as of late but I know how much he loved his family and how much you all love him. The treasured memories will help you through the difficult days ahead. Thinking of you at this most difficult time. Take care.
