Passed peacefully away at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Friday, February 25, 2022, Fannie Fagner of Lower Island Cove, age 92 years. Predeceased by husband: Albert; parents: William John and Martha May Thorne; brother: Ambrose (Matilda); sisters: Annie May (Samuel) Gillingham, Eleanor Riggs, and Jane (Wallace) Benson. Leaving to mourn, daughter: Gladys (Melvin, deceased) Sparkes, Lower Island Cove; two grandchildren: Harvey (Jennifer) Sparkes and Sylvia Sparkes (Cecil Dyke); three great-grandchildren: Najaula (Dawson), Logan, and Liam; sister: Gertie (Thomas, deceased) Gillingham, Lower Island Cove; brother-in-law: Wilfred Riggs, Bay de Verde; special friend: Bertha Sparkes, Lower Island Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Visitation at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove on Saturday, Feb. 26 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 27 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Monday, Feb. 28 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service on Monday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, Lower Island Cove.
