Sharon,Greg and families. We are so sorry for your loss. There are so many memories of fun times when you visited Hr.Grace in the summer and when we spent time visiting your grandmother in St.John’s. Your father had such a sense of humour, he was kind, a gentleman and the only adult, as a child,I remember who enjoyed sitting to play a board with us children. Hold on to him in your hearts always.

To Georges family: we are sorry to hear of George’s passing. The past years have been hard on the family.
What began as a valued colleague relationship in 1975, when we both worked in Administration at the Waterford Hospital, became best friends. Anyone who knew George would agree that he was a responsible, respectful, funny, kind, caring and above all a family person. In his retirement he took it upon himself to ensure that his parents were cared for and able to remain in their much loved home. Debby, our children Matthew and Lisa and I, considered George as part of our family. We enjoyed getting together for a fish and chips at Leo’s or Big R’s. George preferred Leo’s and me Big R’s. As good friends, we took turns visiting each other’s establishment equally. Leading up to one of our fish and chips ventures (Ches’s on Topsail Road),we decided to do a hike, one George had done so many times before and me, not at all: Shea Heights, Maddox Cove, Petty Harbour and across to Petty Harbour Road. After that hike, we were both too tired to eat the fish and chips we had ordered.
George always had a great sense of humour. The first thing we’d do when we got together was to reflect on something that occurred in the past that we both could relate to. There were many reflections.
Sharon and Greg, your dad was so proud of you and spoke about his grandchildren fondly.
Rest in peace my good friend and go easy on the french fries and dark vinegar. Garry, Debby, Matthew and Lisa Pinto.

So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. My heart truly feels your family's pain. I remember being at nan Pikes when your parents and Uncle Fred and Aunt Violet would drop by on Sunday afternoons. My first Nursing job was at the Janeway hospital, your dad welcomed me with open arms. A very special man indeed. Rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Dad and grandfather. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I met George in 1997 when I moved on the same street and our friendship grew from there. There was no such thing as a 5 minute chat with George. He always had a story or a joke and was so interesting to chat with. I watched him heal an injured bird one day and set it free with a neighborhood of children witnessing such kindness and caring. They were amazed by him. His family was "his everything" from caring for his aging parents to always speaking about his children and especially of his grandchildren. Buddy his dog was treated like a prince and later he took in a stray cat. He was the kind of person who always took time to stop and smell the roses. He had a heart of gold. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
