Obituary of Patricia 'Patsy' Quinlan
Please share a memory of Patricia 'Patsy' to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed peacefully away at the palliative care unit following a brief illness on February 14th at the age of 82 years. Patsy died as she lived with dignity and grace surrounded by her four children.
Predeceased by her loving husband Don of 61 years who passed just nine short months ago, her parents Patrick & Rita Woodrow, sisters Nellie (Monte) Osmond, Carmel (Dan) Norris, brother Tom Woodrow, niece Coreen Norris, parents-in-law Maurice & Marcella Quinlan.
Leaving to mourn her four children whom she so loved and adored,
Michelle (Jim) Hickey, Valda (Dave) AuCoin, Carl (Jane) Quinlan, Andrea (Peter) Avery, affectionate, loving Nan to Claire, Maggie (Rafe), Emily (Adam), Patrick (Sarah), Evan (Amy), Taylor (Jerry), Sam (Erin), & Claudia; her brother Ed (Helen) Woodrow; sisters-in- law Mary Woodrow, Marian (Fred) Hopkins, and a large, loving circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends with whom she shared a special bond.
To know our mother was to love her. She brightened every room with her beautiful smile. When we think of Mom we think of her strength, resilience, humility, generosity, and her profound love for her family. Mom thoroughly enjoyed reading, walking, yoga, fashion, singing, acting, and socializing. She embraced her Tiffany Community and showed true friendship and kindness to all. Mom “loved where she lived.”
Her vibrant personality, hearty laugh, witty sense of humour and compassionate nature are the legacy she leaves behind.
Visitation for Patsy and Don will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, Freshwater Rd. on Tuesday February 18th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm; Noel’s Funeral Home, Western Bay, on Wednesday, February 19th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
Funeral Mass to be held at the Parish of the Assumption in Bay de Verde on Thursday, February 20th at 11 am.
