Obituary of Dorothy 'Dot' Hudson
Please share a memory of Dorothy 'Dot' to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy (Dot) Hudson of Adams Cove, aged 82 years on April 24th 2025, after a courageous journey with Dementia. Surrounded by love she peacefully left this world leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness and joy that will never be forgotten.
Predeceased by husband: Embry, with whom she shared many beautiful years of marriage; parents: Andrew and Elizabeth Parsons, sister Addy (Robert) Stewart, brothers: Clarence (Myrtle), Clayton: sister-in-law: Marjorie.
Leaving to mourn, daughter Debby Meaney; son Barry (Tammy); a son raised as her own Ronnie Dawson ( Leora); grandchildren: Robyn (Neil), Zachary and their father Jim Meaney, Meredith, Isabella, Isaiah; great-grandchildren: Maci and Myra; brother: Woodrow 'Samuel' Parsons; sister-in-law: Ethelwynn Parsons; also a large circle of other relatives and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Special thanks to the staff of Ruby Manor and Pleasantview Towers for their exceptional care.
Dorothy had a heart of gold and a spirit that brightened every room she entered; known for her quick wit and infectious laughter, her care, compassion and generosity touched countless lives, creating cherished memories for everyone lucky enough to know her. A woman of many talents, Dot found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved to sing, knit and bake. Above all else, she adored her family, who were the center of her world. Her love for them was boundless, and her greatest pride was in their happiness and success.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Western Bay on Friday, May 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Funeral service to follow on Saturday May 3, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Main Highway, Western Bay.
Interment in the United Church Cemetery, Blackhead.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of NL, (835 Topsail Rd, Unit #107, Mount Pearl, NL, A1N 3J6) supporting Dementia care or research, honoring Dorothy's enduring spirit of giving.
Rest in peace Dorothy. Your light will continue to shine in the lives you've touched, and your memory will be cherished forever.
