Obituary of Margaret Rose Serrick

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret (Marg) Serrick at the age of 87. Marg passed peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on June 25th, 2025, with her loving sister, Irene, by her side.

Predeceased by parents: Irene and James Hunt; sister-in-law: Ruby Hunt; brothers-in-law: George Pike and Gary Earle.

Leaving to mourn, her husband of 62 years: Rex; daughter: Lynn (Kirk) Greening; son: Paul (Valerie) Serrick; grandchildren: Leah Greening and MacKenzie Green; siblings: twin sister Theresa Pike, Ed Hunt, Gord (Marg) Hunt, Elizabeth Earle, and Irene (Rich) Green; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Marg was born and raised in Harbour Grace and later moved to Carbonear where she married and raised her family. Throughout her life, Marg was a very active member of the UCW and the Girl Guides. She is well-known for her cooking and baking abilities and was most happy when helping a friend in need. In recent years, Marg resided at Ruby Manor Retirement Home in St. John’s.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Ruby Manor Retirement Home for the care Marg received.

In keeping with Marg’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service.
