Obituary of Carol A. Hunt

Please share a memory of Carol A. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With great sadness we announce the passing of a dear sister and aunt, Carol Hunt on July 3, 2025 at Carbonear General Hospital, at the age of 70.

Predeceased by her parents: Mose and Elizabeth Hunt.

Leaving to mourn, her siblings: Mary (Kevin) Verge, Debbie (Pat) George, Betty (Max) Sheppard, Junior (Lorraine) Hunt, Jim (Jackie) Hunt; special aunt: Mary Whalen; special cousin: Patricia Fahey; and Aunt Mary McCarthy; her fur babies: Molly and Cosmo; as well as the lights of her life: her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends and family whom she never missed a birthday or special occasion to be with them.

Carol was born and raised in Harbour Grace. She never shied away from the workforce working her full lifetime, until retirement at the age of 65. Carol left home at a young age and moved to St. John’s to work at her first job, Ches’s Fish and Chips. From there, she went to work at the old General Hospital while completing her GED. She moved away for a short period of time, chasing jobs in New Brunswick and Alberta. Upon her return to further her education, she obtained several certificates in Travel and Tourism, Culinary Arts, and PCA. Carol worked at various places using these skills until later years, she returned home to Harbour Grace and worked at various fish harvesting companies. If you needed to know about a birthday or an anniversary, you just had to ask Carol, she knew them all. She loved darts, bingo and knitting, keeping us all supplied in dishcloths, but most of all, she loved socializing.

Carol cherished her two fur babies, Molly and Cosmo, who kept her company until they had to be rehomed upon her moving to Lanes Retirement Center. The family would like to thank Lanes for the excellent care shown to Carol from the staff and residents during her stay. Thank you also to the doctors and nurses on the 7th floor and ICU of Carbonear General Hospital for their compassion and support during her short illness.

Cremation has taken place.
