Obituary of Dorothy E. 'Doris' Penney (Gear)

Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, September 28, 2025, Dorothy E. 'Doris' Penney of Carbonear, age 82 years.

Predeceased by husband: Baxter; son-in-law: Kevin Earle; great-grandchildren: Kyah and Kara; brother: John Gear; sisters: Lillian, Mary, Beatrice, Ada, Jean, Belinda, Veronica; sister-in-law: Violet (Sandy) Reynolds; brothers-in-law: Leslie (Vera) Penney and Frank Antle.

Leaving to mourn, daughters: Rhoda (Perry), Judy (Jamie), Marion (Bill), and Wanda (Kevin); sons: Terry (Lori) and Leslie (Ida); grandchildren: Daniel, Samantha, Tiffany, Justin, Marlena, Matthew, Ryan, Jimmy, Jeremy, Jonathon, Ashley, Travis, and Warren; sisters: Sarah Reid, Myrtle Gear, and Mildred (Gordon) Dwyer; sisters-in-law: Inez Gear and Madeline Antle; a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Special thank you to the staff of 2 North, Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear for going above and beyond and for the loving care to our mom.

Also a special thanks to the 6th and 7th floor nursing staff, Carbonear General Hospital.

Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Tuesday, September 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. 

Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, October 1 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Water Street, Carbonear.

Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
