We were very sorry to hear of Tony’s passing . Unfortunately we were out of the province at this time. We got to know Tony and his mom very well through my mom- Maude Powell. They were wonderful friends and we enjoyed sharing many meals with them at my mom’s home- even after Mrs Moores passed away. We enjoyed chatting with Tony and his kind gentle demeanour was so comfortable to be around. A gentle soul and a beautiful person to be around . We feel privileged to have known him. To Carol and family. So very sorry to hear of Anthony's passing. Over the years Tony and I have had many conversations and I got to say that I have enjoyed all of them. Tony was such a soft spoken man and spoke no ill of anyone. He will certainly be missed in the community where for years now he walked routinely every morning. He is now in a better place and reunited with his Mom and Dad. God Bless

So very sorry to hear that Anthony has passed. He was a very dear friend to mom and dad and the whole family. Mom thought of him as her own and loved every visit and phone call. He and mom shared so many stories of him and Carol growing up and her role in their lives. Chistmas wouldn't have been the same without their Christmas Eve visit. I know mom was there to welcome him Home. May you rest in eternal peace Anthony.

We wish to extend our deepest condolences to the Bugo families, and to the family and friends of Anthony.
Long's Hill was not too far from Captain Frank's Lane. Our mothers were very good friends and our families spent time together.
During each visit, Anthony would regale us with stories from the lives of his two nephews, Tony and David. It was clear that Anthony revered them. And when grand-nephews and grand-nieces later appeared, the stories only broadened.
Whether it was in the back pew of Bethany UC or at the front door when dropping off the Evening Telegram, Anthony always engaged in conversation with an inquisitive and genuine interest in life's happenings. He was kind-hearted with an unforgettable smile and sense of humour.
We will miss him.

My sincerest condolences on the passing of Anthony. Capt Frank's Lane won't be the same anymore. I knew Anthony all my life and he was the only one I knew growing up who cheered for the Boston Bruins.

My Favorite Memory of Tony:
I was young, and my family, Dad, mom, Ken, Karen and me, were visiting the family in Freshwater and Carbonear. On this particular day, we were visiting Tony and his mom, Melv. Somewhere during that time, towards the end of the visit I believe, we talked about the fact that my small transistor radio was broken.
Tony offered to fix it for me, since he had the skills to do such things. So when we all piled into the car to return to Freshwater to be with our grandfather, Frank (Francis) and our step grandmother Lily, I left the radio with Tony. We took the lower road back. There was another road which I call the upper one.
As soon as we were out of Tony’s sight, he rushed into the house, took the back off the radio, immediately spotted the problem, and fixed it. He then jumped into his car and took the upper route, thinking he could beat us back to Freshwater and be standing at the house waiting for us, repaired radio in hand. But as it so often happens in such instances of our grandiose plans, there was a traffic jam, and Tony could not make it to the house ahead of us. He showed up not too far behind us time wise, and I remember being thrilled that he had been able to fix my beloved music radio, and much admiration for what he had tried to do.
That was Tony. He loved all of us, and we loved him back. And as I hear how he loved pretty well everyone he met, I realize again just how special he was. I’ll see him again someday soon, and I look forward to that.
My sincere condolences and sympathy to Carol and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Tony is now safe.
