Obituary of Anthony "Tony" Moores

Please share a memory of Anthony "Tony" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anthony “Tony” Moores passed peacefully away on October 17, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

Anthony was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland.

He is predeceased by his parents: Ambrose and Melvina.

He is a beloved brother of Carolyn (Michael); cherished uncle to Tony (Lyndsay) and David (Kristy). He very much loved his great-nephews and nieces: Silas, Malachi, Gideon, Esther, Cadence, and Charlotte.

He was a genuinely kind soul who was beloved by all who had the good fortune of crossing paths with him, whether their relationship was minutes long, decades long, or anything in between.

Anthony served in the Royal Canadian Navy, where he served his country and sailed the world before returning to live in Newfoundland.  He spent many years working for Newfoundland Power as an electrician.  An avid sports fan, he could often be found rooting for the Packers, Bruins, and Guardians.  He was a voracious reader, amassing a collection of books, often on subjects related to the Armed Forces and specifically the Navy.

He was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bethany United Church, and generously donated his time and skills to many worthy endeavors connected to those organizations, as well as many others.  Anthony was resolutely faithful to the Lord, and lived his life in a way reflective of the very best teachings from the Bible.

He will be sorely missed by those of this world, but we can take comfort as we all know he has already, undoubtedly, made heaven above a much better place.  One of his favorite expressions when parting ways with a person was “Good Bye…. for now.”   Until we meet again.
