Obituary of William "Johnny" Halfyard

Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s on Monday, October 27, 2025, Johnny Halfyard of Ochre Pit Cove, age 73 years.

Predeceased by his parents: Eric and Virtue Halfyard; brothers: Jim (Margaret) and Roy; sister: Shirley (Gerald) Whelan; niece: Kelly Sheppard; nephew: Matthew Halfyard; parents-in-law: William and Theresa Howell; brothers-in-law: Tommy and Fabian Howell.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife of 47 years, Lucia; his cherished daughter, Dana (Josh) Berry; and his adored grandchildren, Jax and Lea. He will also be  missed by his fur baby, Smokey-Leigh; sister-in-law, Anne Halfyard (Tom Mike); as well as dear members of the Halfyard and Howell families and his circle of friends.

Special thank you to his homecare worker Bonnie, staff at unit 3, Lions Manor in Placentia and the staff of the ICU, Health Science Centre. Your kindness and support was exceptional and will always be appreciated.

Cremation has taken place.

Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Western Bay on November 8, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Funeral service to take place from Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Western Bay on November 8, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. Interment to take place at a later date.
