Obituary of Margaret Rose Power

Passed peacefully away at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavillion, Carbonear on November 20, 2025, Margaret Rose Power of Caplin Cove, age 86 years.

Predeceased by husband: Leo (2010); parents: James and Rita McCarthy; parents-in-law: Edward and Catherine Power; brothers: William, John Joe, Dennis, and Phillip; sisters: Kathleen and Mary; brother-in-law: Jerry Power.

Leaving to mourn, children: Terry Power (Tina Bursey-Snelgrove), Rita (Gary) Thorne, Sharon (Ken) Vallis, Betsy Squires (Blanford Billard – deceased), Kay (Stevie) March, and Bernard; eight grandchildren: Angela (Jeff) Wall, Christopher Squires (Wandalee Kelloway), Andrew (Kristie) Thorne, Christina (Brad) Peach, Jamie (Sierra Carpenter) March, Alex (Tiffany) March, Tanya (Troy) Thorne, and Chloe March; seven great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Cali, Kailey, Leo, Ruby, Kinsley, Harper; her special friends at the home: Janet Pardy and Pat Sparkes; recreation therapist: Raylene Smith; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavillion for their kindness and care over the past five years.

Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Western Bay on Sunday, November 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., also at Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Bay de Verde on Monday, November 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Funeral service to take place on Monday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. from Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Bay de Verde.

Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Low Point. 

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Low Point Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund, c/o Assumption Parish, P. O. Box 70, Bay de Verde, NL, A0A 1E0.
