My condolences to the family. I met Marie when I worked at ACRC. She was pleasant and kind, and most often spotted wearing an endearing smile. Unfortunate that I never knew she was from Port de Grave… dare say I missed out on a story there. But now that her stories have come to a close, may her family and friends hold onto the memories and stories she left behind.
God bless.

Madeline, Beulah, Geraldine, Leta and families,
Allan and I were so saddened to hear of Mother’s passing. I have always held a special place in my heart for her and over the years she always had a smile for me. You guys were so fortunate to have her in your life for so many years. She loved her family dearly and as you go through this time of grieving lean on one another for support. Remember all the good times you spent together and I know there were lots.
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand and give you the strength to get through these next days. Take care and know we are thinking of you.

Aunt Marie to me has always been a person of quiet strength. Some of my unique memories are seeing her behind the counter at her shop weighing out a gallon of potatoes on the scale and separating frozen chicken legs to sell by the each.
We can't remember an unkind word from Aunt Marie and we loved seeing her great smile.
Carla and myself feel so good to have known Aunt Marie and to see such a loving family surrrounding her all her 101 years.
Although this is a time of sadness it is also a celebration of life. To Aunt Marie a life well lived, a life well loved.

My sincere condolences to all of Marie's family. Such a kind and friendly person. My Mom Frances Rideout was across the hall from Marie at Admirals coast and they were such good friends, they would drop in and visit each other and enjoy a chat, especially about their hometown, as they both grew up in Port DE Grave. Rest in Peace you lived a long and good life.

To the Porter Family
Sincere condolences on the passing of Marie
She lived to be a wonderful age, and while I didn’t see her much after leaving Port de Grave I have pleasant memories of visiting their house way back when I delivered the Evening Telegram to Blow me Down. They always gave me a good tip and her kindness has always been remembered. I’m now certain I can close the book on Telegram delivery to BmD. May you all go forward with very pleasant memories
God Bless All, Raymond and Joyce ANDREWS

To the family,
What a beautiful and wonderful lady. I remember growing up walking through the back road to visit the shop in Blow me Down. It was the first time buying a coke in a can. Funny the things that stand out in our memory. In later years I would meet this beautiful, kind and always positive woman at the United Church in Topsail with Madeline, and of course Marie was always done up like a stick of chewing gum!
Marie has left a great legacy. Her children and grandchildren inherited her shiny personality of being cheerful and always happy to see you especially if you were from Port de Grave. There were always lots to reminisce about.
Thinking about all of you at this time. Cherish your memories as they will always remain.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
