Obituary of Mary McCarthy
Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Sunday, February 22, 2026, Mary McCarthy of Harbour Grace, age 90 years.
Predeceased by husband: Mike; infant daughter: Linda; parents: Matthew and Sadie Northcott; brothers: Andrew (Sadie), Kevin, Joseph (Joan), and Jim; sisters: Beth (Dan) Ash, Loretta Payne, and Bernadette McCormack; special friend: Patsy Hearn.
Leaving to mourn, sons: Wayne (Rosalind), Jerome (Stella), Keith (Maria), Garry (Eileen), Tony (Judy), and Paul (Bev); grandchildren: Jennifer (Glenn), Peter (Shannon), Michael (Brittany), Stephanie (Derek), Adam, Matthew (Alicia), Lindsay (Ian), Leslie (Kara), Jessica (Joel), and Kendell (Steve); 14 great-grandchildren; brother: Dave (Carolanne); brother-in-law: Murray Payne; special brother-in-law and friend: Brian McCormack; sisters-in-law: Doreen and Patricia Northcott; special nephew: Sean (Judy) Ash; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff of unit 2 South at Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion for their care and compassion they showed to our mother. Your kindness will be remembered.
Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Thursday, February 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral service with Mass to take place on Friday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
