Obituary of Sarah Heatherly

Sarah Heatherly (Mulley) passed peacefully away at the age of 90 surrounded by family. Loving mother to Nancy (Glenn), Susan, David (Kristin), Jennifer (Justin), and Debbie. Cherished grandmother of Matthew (Carly), Thomas (Nicolle), Mariah, Benjamin (Valentina), Daniel and “G.G.” to Thea, Johnathan, Charlie and Logan.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Elsie Mulley, and brother James (LaVerne). Sarah is survived and will be deeply missed by her sister Marie. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Western Bay Newfoundland, Sarah made London, ON her home for many years until recently moving to Barrie to be closer to family. She was a homemaker all her life devoting her time to raising her children. Sarah was an active member of Fairmont United Church and its UCW chapter until its closing.

Mom will be remembered for her love of family and strength and courage in the face of adversity. She fought many battles with cancer over her life confronting each with bravery and resolve.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Chartwell Allendale Station. The world is truly blessed to have people like you who give so much of themselves to helping others. We cannot thank you enough for the gentle, compassionate care you showed Mom. We would also like to thank the Bayshore palliative care team and Dr. Lynda Ekeh for their support through Mom’s journey.

Visitation will be held Thursday March 19th from 12pm to 2pm at Adams Funeral Home in Barrie.

Interment in the place that never left her heart, United Cemetery, Blackhead on Monday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m.
