Obituary of Rona Reid
It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rona Reid of Winterton, at Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age 80 years. Rona was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and sister-in-law.
Pre-deceased by parents: Aaron and Olive Worthman; sisters: Eileen (Jake) Jackson, and Millicent (Fred) Rees.
Leaving to mourn, loving husband of 44 years: Charlie; sons: Phonse (Connie) St. George, Roger St. George, Rodney (Maxine) St. George, Darrin (Bonnie) St. George, and Darrell (Kim) Reid; brother: Randy (Paulette) Worthman; special sister-in-law: Effie Deering; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom she was so proud; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
Rona found great happiness in the simple, yet meaningful pleasures of life. Her love of piano always brought her peace. She admired nature and took endless photographs of her beautiful flowers and colorful birds. There were many family photos in her collection as well.
She had a glamorous sense of style and took pride in dressing up in her Sunday best, always adding a touch of sparkle with her favourite piece of jewelry.
We are beyond thankful to the nursing staff at the Carbonear General Hospital who went above and beyond to provide exceptional care and comfort. Thank you to Dr. Howse, Colleen George (home care worker), Dr. Holloway, and Dr. Mehdi Dehghani for their loving care.
Visitation at Green’s Funeral Home, Winterton on Sunday, March 29 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral to take place on Monday, March 30 at 2:00 p.m. from Trinity Hall, Winterton.
