Obituary of Dorothy Jane Cole
Passed peacefully away at Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavillion, Carbonear on Sunday, April 5, 2026, Dorothy Jane Cole of Victoria, age 105 years.
Predeceased by husbands: Murdock Slade and David Cole; son: Allan P. Slade; parents: Luke and Grace Gale; sisters: Sarah, Stella, Margaret, and Alice; brothers: Eli and Lawrence.
Leaving to mourn, daughters: Gertie (Bert) Parsons, Carbonear and Linda Slade, Corner Brook; son: David (Frances) Slade, Truro, NS; daughter-in-law: Marion Slade, Victoria; grandchildren: Monica (Sam), Melanie (Blaine), Krystle (Steve), Gregory (Tanya), Lisa (Steve), and Ashley; great-grandchildren: Alexa, Bailee, Jessica (Josh), Haley, Christopher, Shane, Aaron, and Allan; great-great-grandchild: Malakai; sister: Audrey Gale, Seattle, Washington, USA; special friends: Reg and Emmie Clarke, Pearl Rose, and Gary Gale; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavillion for their care, kindness, and funny conversations.
Also, special thanks to the friendly staff at Mary Browns, Carbonear for making sure Dorothy had her chickhen legs on time for supper.
Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, April 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Funeral service to take place on Thursday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m. from Victoria United Church.
Interment in Victoria United Cemetery.
