Obituary of Bart Kennedy
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bart Kennedy share that he passed away peacefully at the age of 84 in Carbonear on April 11, 2026 in the presence of his family.
Predeceased by his loving wife: Helen (nee Morrissey); son: Bartholomew John; parents: Michael and Clara; brothers: Jimmy and John; sister: Maureen.
Bart leaves to mourn his children: Betty Anne (Gerard), Blair (Mohammed), Beverly Anne (Francis), and Clara Mary (Peter); grandchildren: Katie (Brent), Julia (Kyle), Emma, Chloe, and Abigayle; great grandchildren: Hali and Kennedy; brother: Gerald (Jean); sister-in-law: Sr. Betty Morrissey; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Bart had a long and dedicated career with NL Hydro where he built a reputation for his knowledge and strong work ethic. Never one to sit still, he later followed his independent spirit and started his own appliance repair business and loved to take on new work challenges throughout the community.
Bart will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, trusted friend and a man who made the world a better place.
The family would like to thank the Intensive Care Unit team at the Carbonear Hospital for their caring support and assistance.
Visitation at Moore’s Funeral Home, 82 Water Street, Bay Roberts on Thursday, April 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral Service to take place at All Hallows Roman Catholic Church, North River at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Interment in Holy Hallows Cemetery, North River.
