Obituary of Dorothy "Beth" Lacey

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy ‘Beth’ Lacey of Adam’s Cove, at the age of 71 years after a short illness. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

Predeceased by parents: Graham and Lorraine Lacey; sister: Jill Rowsell; parents-in-law: Garland and Geneva White.

Leaving to mourn, beloved wife: Pauline White; sister: Shelley; aunt: Sybil Dornan; nieces: Samantha Bennett (Jon), Holly White (Alex), and Jennifer Paley (Todd); nephew: Gregory Rowsell (Penny); great-niece: Tea; great-nephew: Sawyer; cousins: Lee Perkins (Debbie Budgell) and Andrew Perkins; brothers-in-law: Ken Rowsell and Gary White (Gwen); sister-in-law: Eileen White; as well as a large circle of relatives and too many great friends to count.

Beth graduated from Grand Falls Academy excelling in both academics and sports. She then went on to MUN, where she graduated with an undergraduate degree and Masters in Psychology.

She was a fabulous cook and baker, and she danced as if nobody was watching.

Beth has always been a strong feminist, helping many women in violent and life threatening situations, she was filled with kindness and greatness. She was a pioneer, fighting for equal rights for 2SLGBTQ+ people everywhere since the 80’s. Many people would consider Beth a warrior. She was very close to her family and friends. She was loved by many.

She was an absolute force to be reckoned with. Now is her time to soar beyond greatness, just as she will. Dear Beth, you are the wind beneath our wings. Rest peacefully. You will be loved and missed beyond measure.

Visitation will be held at Noel’s Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
