Please share a memory of Kevin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Charles Christopher Lynch, on May 3, 2026, at Carbonear General Hospital, at the age of 73.

Born on April 11, 1953, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Kevin was raised in Harbour Grace, a town he loved deeply and proudly called home throughout his life.

He was predeceased by his son, Kevin Robert Lynch; his parents, Frank and Winnifred (Winnie Walsh) Lynch; his siblings, Bernice (James Percey), Marie (Marvin Smokoska), Ruby (Charles O’Keefe), and Elva (Ernie Gricken); and his parents-in-law, Robert and Dorothy (Whitman) Cron, and brother-in-law Douglas Cron.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Jane.

His children:

Sheena “Shanie” and her husband Rod Reynolds, and their children Morgan and Darcy;

Seamus Lynch, and his children Kian, Rory, and Penelope; Beaumont, Alberta

and his grand children Keegan and Mae-Anne Lynch and their mother Amanda Letourneau; Fort St. John, BC

Kevin is fondly remembered by his brother Frank Lynch and his wife Robin. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law Ann Cron (Douglas) and family; also a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A man of strong beliefs and deep appreciation for life’s simple moments, Kevin was known for his passion for music, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his pride in his heritage. Though he worked professionally as a Welding Inspector, music was always at the heart of who he was. In Newfoundland and beyond, “Poppy Kev” was someone who could bring people together, lift spirits, and create lasting memories with his music.

Kevin had a way of grounding those around him with simple but meaningful words of wisdom, often reminding loved ones that “this too shall pass” and that there were always “better days ahead.” He carried a deep sense of gratitude and never took the small joys of life for granted. He knew how to enjoy life, rarely turning down good music and a drink in good company.

Above all, Kevin was a devoted family man. He took great pride in protecting and providing for those he loved, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Kevin found comfort in his faith and was a regular attendee of the Roman Catholic church. He took immense pride in his home, his town, and the life he built in Harbour Grace.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity Conception Health (TCP) Foundation, the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund-Harbour Grace, NL, or Justin’s Musical Bridge Foundation.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Renelle Butt, Dr. Hawse, Dr. Dehghani, Father Julius, and the nurses and staff of the 6th floor at Carbonear General Hospital for their care and compassion.

Kevin’s music, his spirit, and his love for life will live on in all who knew him.
