Obituary of Karen Legrow

Please share a memory of Karen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Karen LeGrow announce her sudden passing at 68 years of age.

Karen is predeceased by her husband Anthony Traverse, whom she loved dearly every moment of their lives together, her mother and father: Alma and Harry LeGrow, brother-in-law: Gerard O’Neil, sister-in-law, Marilyn Doyle, sister-in-law, Maureen LeGrow and other members of the LeGrow and Traverse families.

Leaving to mourn, her son: Adam LeGrow and daughter: Dana Farr, stepson: Fabian (Cynthia) Traverse, grandchildren: Emma and Nicholas, step-granddaughter, Tera as well as step-grandchildren. Karen’s love for her children and grandchildren could be felt by them just as immensely as it was given by her and spanned everywhere, no matter the distance or time. Her dedication in ensuring this was evident from the moment she first became a mother and continued on every moment since.

Karen also leaves to mourn her sister: Donna LeGrow, brothers: Walter LeGrow, Peter LeGrow, Michael (Alice) LeGrow, Christopher LeGrow and Jeffrey (Sherry) LeGrow as well as a large family of sisters-and-brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and other family members throughout Canada and the US. Karen also leaves to mourn a large circle of friends, including but certainly never limited to, her lifelong friend, Linda LeGrow-Hinchey, and homecare workers, Lisa Harrington, Brooke Butt and Carolyn Brown. The care they showed Karen was never overlooked and always appreciated.

Karen leaves this world with the memory of her empathy and humility. Her kindness and compassion for others were a legacy that those who knew her will never forget. She remained humble through every moment of her life and never realized the gift that she gave others simply by sitting beside them in hopes that she could lighten their load in any way.

A celebration of Karen’s life will be planned for a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be entrusted to Mike or Alice LeGrow or can be made to the Karen LeGrow Memorial Fund c/o Noel’s Funeral Homes Ltd., 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9.

If you need a friend, I’m sailing right behind. Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind.
