Obituary of Sarah Naomi Reid

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend, Sarah Naomi Reid (Sparkes)on July 1,2026, at the age of 94 years.

Naomi was predeceased by the love of her life, William (Bob) Reid her grandson, Bradley; her sisters Ann, and Ethel.

Leaving behind with broken hearts and countless cherished memories are her loving children: Connie (Doug) Penney, Harold (Barb), Ann (Craig) Olford, Wade (June). She also leaves to mourn her precious grandchildren: Kirk (Leanne), Kris (Angela), Korren, Kory (Vanessa), Elaine, Justin (Sue), and Ashley (Jim) as well as her beloved great-grandchildren: Paige, Amelia, Holly, Katherine, Abby, Logan, Luke, Julianna, Isabella and Abigail; her great great grandchildren Ryder and Reese. Naomi is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Phil Sparkes and along with a large circle of extended family and friends. The family would like thank Naomi’s special friend Ros Collins, for whom she considered her to be her family.

Naomi was devoted to her family and treasured every opportunity to gather with those she loved. Family celebrations brought her immense joy, and she embraced every moment spent surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and friends. Her greatest happiness came from the people she loved most.

A woman of profound and unwavering faith, Naomi was a devoted member of the Salvation Army whose life reflected her deep spiritual convictions. Her grace, kindness, and commitment to serving others were evident throughout her life.

She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering support that will continue to inspire generations to come.

Though her passing leaves a profound void, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know and love her.

Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army Church, Mount Pearl.

Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue on Saturday, July 4, 2026 from 2pm-9pm. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Western Bay on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 10am – 12pm. A Funeral Service will take place from Noel’s Funeral Home at 2pm with a internment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Job’s Cove.
