Obituary of Marilyn G. King

Passed away surrounded by her loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, August 14, 2026, Marilyn G. King of Carbonear, age 76 years.

Predeceased by parents: Edith and Albert Peach; step-father: Chris Sooley; special niece: Jessica Parsons; parents-in-law: Malcolm and Susie King; sister-in-law: Elaine King; step-sister: Brenda Chislett.

Leaving to mourn, loving and devoted husband of 56 years: Lloyd; sons: Greg (Gina), Jeff (Tammy), and Stephen (Lori); grandchildren: Amanda (Kenzie), Mark (Leslie), Julie (Liam), and Ryan; great-granddaughter: Kinsley; sisters: Carol (Ray) Frampton, Dianne (Gil) King, Janet (Ches) Parsons, Dot (Bryan) MacDonald, and Brenda Peach; step-sister: Sandra (John) Warren; brother: Wayne (Sharon) Peach, Ken (Marie) Peach; step-brothers: Howard (Christine) Sooley, Carl (Donna) Sooley, and Jerry Sooley (Linda); step-brother-in-law: Wilfred (Daphne-deceased) Jackson; brothers-in-law: Norman (Hope-deceased) King and Harvey (Mary-deceased) Parsons; sisters-in-law: Bernice (Walter-deceased) Green and Una (Winston) Warford;  also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A sincere thank you to management, staff, and residence of Bay Robert’s Retirement Home for their kindness and care.

A special thank you to Amanda Badcock, her best little buddy for her tender care and compassion. It will never be forgotten.

To doctors and all staff of Carbonear General Hospital, 7th Floor and Dr. Chris Peddle for their exceptional care during Marilyn’s final days, we will be forever grateful.

Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Monday, August 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 18 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, August 18 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear.

Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
