Diane & Paula I am so sorry to hear of Rods passing, when my father passed Rod & his family were there to help us & mom . I actually stayed with Rod for a few nights while I was 9, he took me around & made sure I had lots of candy. Thinking of you all during this difficult time .

Growing up in Hr.Grace and working summers at Ocean Harvesters Fish Plant , Rod and the fishermen in their boats offloading at the wharfs were a fabric of our lives . Diane and families,
I express to you my sincere condolances on the death of Rod a fellow school mate of mine. Rod attended the former St. Paul’s elementary and high schools and was in my classes during our time. He was a jovial and light-hearted friend and was a pleasure to know and carry on with in my student days.

My deepest condolences to my sister Diane in the loss of your dear husband and my niece Paula in the loss of your father. I have many fond memories of Rod too many to mention but a few that stick with me are the love that we both had for horses. He would tell me the night before that he was going in the woods for a load of wood and if I wanted to go I had to be up early I never took the time to think about it lol I would say yep and sure enough I’d be up and waiting for him to pick me up. Coming back home with the load of wood was the best he always made sure that I was sat perfectly on the load so that I wouldn’t fall off when he got the load moving because once we started moving he had to jump on himself and then there was no stopping until we got to the house, that was the good old days. Another time he was taking Paula to the S W Moorse memorial stadium to see the Lipizzaner Stallions he came to the house with Paula to tell me where he was taking her and to show me that he had purchased three tickets and that the third ticket was for me and boy was I ever happy and what a night it was to remember. It’s with a heavy heart that I say you were the best brother in law a person could ever ask for until we meet again you will be dearly missed, love you rubberneck
