BUTT, John 'Jack' G.W. - Passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, February 3, 2011, after a lengthy battle with cancer, John 'Jack' G.W. Butt of Broad Cove, age 79 years. Predeceased by son: David; granddaughters: Lisa Butt and Megan Butt; parents: Moses and Beatrice Butt; parents-in-law: George and Ollie Swain; sister: Audrey Knight. Leaving to mourn, loving wife: Nina; one daughter: Dorothy (Matthew) Slade; Broad Cove; three sons: Gerald (Winnie), Darryl (Beverley) and Roger, all of Broad Cove; three grandchildren: Kevin (Paulette) Butt, Paul Butt and Jessica (Blair) Keats; two great-granddaughters: Kylie Butt and Paige Keats; brother-in-law: Walter Knight; two nephews: Garry (Margie) Knight and Glenn (Diane) Knight and families; aunt: Myrtle Slade; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. from Ocean View United Church, Broad Cove. Interment in the United Cemetery, Blackhead. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Ocean View United Church Trustee Board.
