Obituary of Maureen Penney

PENNEY, Maureen (nee Harrington) - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, February 28, 2011, Maureen Penney (nee Harrington) of Carbonear, age 79 years. Predeceased by parents: Patrick and Annie Harrington; brother: Jack Harrington. Leaving to mourn, husband: Donald; two daughters: Lynette Bickford, Winnipeg, MB and Debbie (Ray) Marshall, St. John's; five sons: Boyd, Don, Tony, all of Victoria, Robert (Sharon), Salmon Cove and Barry (Maureen), St. John's; eight grandchildren: Christopher, Angelina, Ian, Gary, Barry, Victoria, Cassandra and Zachary; four brothers: Joe Harrington, Morris Harrington, Bill Harrington and Patrick Harrington; five sisters: Nora Collins, Elizabeth Hinks, Marcella Harrington, Mary Paynter and Margaret Reid; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Due to stormy weather, the funeral service is rescheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Cremation to follow. Inurnment to take place at a later date in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carbonear. A Reception will be held following the service at Noel's Funeral Home in the Noel's Gathering/Social room. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre.
