Obituary of Josephine M. King

Please share a memory of Josephine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our Mom, Margaret Josephine King began her journey through life on Sept.13, 1915. She was a strong, determined and brilliant woman, who faced many challenges and adventures throughout her 95 years in the ever-changing 20th century and beyond. As a young woman she travelled to Labrador on fishing vessels such as the Kyle, as a cook for fishing crews and had many tales to tell about her experiences there. Mom married our Dad in 1942. She was a devoted wife and mother and she felt her greatest achievements were her children to whom she dedicated herself totally. She was also dedicated to her Church. She enjoyed visiting her children and loved playing Bingo with her many friends. On April 26, 2011, surrounded by her adoring family, our Mom completed the final phase of her journey. Mom was predeceased by her husband Thomas H. King, her very special son Patrick, her parents James and Johanna (Fitzgerald) King, sister Mary Alice and brothers Patrick and Leo. Celebrating her life and legacy are her children, Raymond (Madeleine) King, Alice (Angus) Tarrant, Marie (Don) Dwyer, Joan (Bruce) Wilcox, Ron (Gaye) King. Her pride and joy are her thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, her beloved sister Rose Gibson and will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 29 at 2:30 p.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kingston. Interment in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Kingston. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the North Shore Central Ambulance Fund.
