Obituary of Geraldine 'Geri' Garland

April 15, 1949 - July 16, 2016 Passed peacefully away at Dr. A. A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican on Saturday, July 16, 2016, Geraldine 'Geri' Garland of Lower Island Cove, age 67 years. Predeceased by parents: Ernest and Faith Toope; brothers: Stuart (Jessie) Toope and Ernest Toope; sister: Audrey Ivany; sister-in-law: Evelyn Toope; brothers-in-law: Albert Dalton and Sidney King. Leaving to mourn, husband: Fred; one daughter: Angela Whiffen, Chamberlains; one son: Bradford (Amanda), Paradise; three grandchildren: Faith, Noah, and Mia; two brothers: Hedley (Kathleen) Toope, Mount Pearl and Calvin (Fay) Toope, Long Pond; two sisters: Erma Dalton (Lorne), Catalina and Ruby (Irvin) Vaters, Pouch Cove; brother-in-law: Stirling Ivany, Mount Pearl; The Garland Family; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the Garland family and to Dr. Popaduik, Dr. Dawson, Dr. St. Croix, and the staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, St. John’s and the Dr. A. A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Monday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday, 2:00 to 5:00, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. from Memorial United Church, Burnt Point.
