Obituary of Jim Oliver

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. A. A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican on Thursday, December 14, 2017, Jim Oliver of Gull Island, age 73 years. Predeceased by first wife: Margo Huber/Oliver; parents: Patrick and Sara; brother: Patrick; sisters: Laura Power, Elizabeth Beroski, Claire Power, Mary Margaret Royal, and infant sister: Philomena. Leaving to mourn, loving wife: Rose; three daughters: Rebecca Oliver, Jamie (Derek) Hawrylak, and Darlene Oliver, all of Montreal; one son: Christopher, Montreal; step-children: Frances Gushue, Julie (Steven) Gevadoni, Robert (Alison) Gushue, and Terrance Gushue; fourteen grandchildren; his two little angels: Erynne and Mackenzey; special friends: Ed and Donna Hearn, Russell Snelgrove, Kathleen Inman, Harold and Lucille Morris, and Peter Johnson; also a large number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Monday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Tuesday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay.  Inurnment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to Daffodil Place, P.O. Box 8921, 70 Ropewalk Lane, St. John's, NL, A1B 3R9.
