Obituary of Mary Margaret Doran

Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, October 9, 2023, Mary Margaret Doran of Carbonear, formerly of Harbour Grace, age 66 years. Predeceased by parents: William (Bill) and Joan Doran; brother-in-law: Jim Slade. Leaving to mourn, husband: Ed Slade; daughters: Laurie-Ann (Robert) Meadus and Charlene Slade, both of Carbonear; son: William (Denise) Galway, Alberta; nine grandchildren: Mason, Grady, Tara, Devon, Ethan, Anna Lee, Jasmine, Ryan, and Rosswell; two great-grandchildren: Maxwell and Maverick; two brothers: Brian (Barbara, deceased), Carbonear and Kevin, Alberta; three sisters: Ann Marie (Keith) Gibson, South Carolina, Margaret (Tony) Pye, Traytown, and Kathy (Greg) Patzer, Manitoba; sisters-in-law: Mary St. George (Fred Hutchings), Bride Squibb, and Livy Slade, all of Carbonear; brother-in-law: Brian Slade, Toronto; special friend, whom she loved like a mother: Phyllis Janes, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Friday, October 13 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service for family and close friends to take place on Saturday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Water Street, Carbonear. Cremation to follow with interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear on Monday, October 16 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Mary Doran Memorial Fund, c/o Noel’s Funeral Home, 106 Water Street, Carbonear, A1Y 1A9.
