Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Thursday, January 4, 2024, Dan McCarthy of Gull Island, age 84 years. Predeceased by wife: Angela; parents: John and Mary Ann; brothers: Jim (Elizabeth), Tom (Bertha), and Pad; sister: Elizabeth (John) Trobl. Leaving to mourn, daughter: Sharon McCarthy, Gull Island; two sons: Chris, Edmonton, AB and Michael (Wendy), Rockland, On; two grandsons: Christopher (Chantelle) and Gregory; three great-grandchildren: Ethan, Madison, and Kaylee; sister: Mary (Bob - deceased) Rohlik, Montreal; sister-in-law: Betty McCarthy, Ochre Pit Cove; special niece: Crystal, St. John’s; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Sunday, January 7 from 7:00 to 9:00, Monday, January 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Interment at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay.
