HEFFORD, Myra J.- Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Monday, November 16, 2009, Myra J. Hefford of New Perlican, age 87 years. Predeceased by husband: Peter J.; son: Leslie; son-in-law: Frank; parents: Freeman and Margaret Payne; brothers: Sidney and Walter; sisters: Alma and Edith. Leaving to mourn, three daughters: Daphne Battiste, Toronto, Margaret Laundry, Chamberlains and Diane (Clayton) Laundry, Bay Roberts; daughter-in-law: Lorraine Hefford, Morris, Illinois; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Freeman (Norma) Payne and Charles (Carrie) Payne, both of Cow Head; one sister: Matilda Guzzwell, St. John's; sisters-in-law: Debbie Laing, Rockie Harbour and Elsie Payne, Daniel's Harbour; also a large number of other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Matthews United Church, New Perlican on Friday, November 20 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 21 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Matthews United Church and Cemetery, New Perlican. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in Myra's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
