ASH, Thomas - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, Thomas Ash of Carbonear, age 86 years. Predeceased by parents: George and Winnifred; step-mother: Alice Ash; brothers: Jack and Melvin; sisters: Elizabeth and Margaret. Leaving to mourn, three daughters: Winnifred (Bramwell) Pilgrim and Peggy Crane, both of Carbonear and Gladys (John) Slade, Victoria; one son: Thomas (Marcella), Carbonear; nine grandchildren: Brooks (Amanda), Bret, Braeden, Dawson, John Jr. (Pamela), Rebecca (Michael), Amanda (Don), Stephanie (Edward) and Jennifer (John); ten great-grandchildren: Matthew, Nathan, Jessica, Jonathan, Asha, Payton, Desmond, Tyler, Evan and Julie; step-brother: Melvin Ash, Carbonear; nephew: Charles (Doreen) Noel, Carbonear; niece: Margaret (Jay) Garvey, Ontario; sister-in-law: Alice (John) Squires, Sibley's Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Thomas has unselfishly completed a directive to have his body donated to medical science. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Friday, March 12 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A private family memorial service to take place on Saturday at Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. No flowers or donations by request of the family.
