CLARKE, Violet - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, August 1, 2010, Violet Clarke of Victoria, age 83 years. Predeceased by son: Bridle; daughters: Gladys and Ella; infant daughter; parents: Benjamin and Lucy Baker; brothers: Benjamin and Fred; sisters: Evelyn, Jessie, Elizabeth and Eva; step-brothers: Jack and Bill; step-sister: Julia. Leaving to mourn, husband: Pleman; seven daughters: Joyce (Ellis) Antle and Margaret (Fred) Martin, both of Victoria, Louella (Don) Barker, Edmonton, AB, Rosalind Reese, Ontario, Peggy (Roger Bennett), Edmonton, AB, Judy (Tony) Clarke, Victoria and Pamela (Roger) Durnford, Grande Prairie, AB; two sons: Randell (Marilyn) and Benjamin (Kathy), both of Victoria; twenty-four grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Albert Baker, Vancouver, BC; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church, Victoria. Interment in the United Cemetery, Victoria. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear c/o the TCP Health Foundation, 86 Highroad South, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A4.
