My Sweet Marilyn My heart goes out to you and Derrick at this very sad time. Your Mother gave us all some really wonderful memories. It seems all the Walsh girls all had a turn for weekend slumber parties at your place or going camping with your family in the summers . Always had a great time when it was my turn and I tried to have more turns than not. Your Mother made everything fun even if it was just going to the grocery store which was one of my favorites things to do . She always made sure I had a little something that I would normally not get. Please don`t feel you are alone now because you still have 5 more Brothers and Sisters and Mom to be there for whatever you need , whenever you need us. I`m just a call away , I just wish I could be there in person for you both. Love Always Cindy & Debbie Your Mom and Dad are watching over you both now so I hope that give you alittle comfort.

Marilyn and Derrick, Sorry to hear about Aunt Drucilla's passing. I remember alot of visits to your house and down in Western Bay over the years, but most of all I remember her strong will and sense of humour. May time heal your grief and the good memories stay close to your heart each time you think of your mom. Remember all your family and friends love you and are thinking of you at this sad time. Sorry I could n't be there. Valarie, Mike And Michael

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Marilyn and Derrick, your mom holds a special place in my heart. She welcomed so many of your friends into her home over the years. She took time to chat with us unruly teenagers, cook us supper, or even share a laugh about whatever shennaigans "Tom" the cat was up to. Whether it was in the Cassell home in town, or out at the cabin in Western Bay, one always felt welcome. Your mom cooked the best macaroni casserole I ever had, and she beamed each time I told her so. She was a neigborhood mom to many of your friends down through the years, and we loved her too! Thanks for sharing her with us. Rest in peace Mrs. Cassell.

Dearest Marilyn, Derek and Extended Family of Western Bay and St. Johns Area,
It is with great sadness that I have heard of Aunt Drucilla's Passing.I know she is in a Happier Place joining Lester and many of her favorite others.
I am Maxine ,Drucilla's niece, and Malcolm Walsh's daughter who of course was Drucilla's brother. We grew up in Corner Brook Nl on the west coast so it was by train ,car or plane that we could visit the East Coast of the Island and dad's relatives..
When I was 11 years old I took the train alone except with the guidance of 2 Roman Catholic Nuns on the train to visit relatives in St. John's. One of those relatives was Aunt Drucilla who lived on Leslie Street there.
Her husband worked on the passenger boats from Port Aux Basques To Sydney Nova Scotia so Uncle Lester was not at home. I felt like Aunt Drucilla was like a movie actress with her beautiful well sewn clothes and amazing hats. Her deep textures in her complexion and healthy skin always made her look so young. She always had a wonderful way of making me feel special and loved . She continued to do that her entire life. Her sister Elizabeth lived away from St. John's so she missed her company at times although she was always busy with a project.
She took me to the local museum and Cabot Tower . She wanted me to enjoy and have a great time which I did. When things later were not always what she wanted she would say" I didn't sign up for this one" however with her infectious smile and pleasant attitude she would make a humorous joke of almost anything.
Well DEAR Aunt Drucilla, (my youngest sister bears her name) I will miss you dearly as I planned another visit at the Hoyles Escasoni however the Good Lord had different Plans!I know Heaven is a Better Place today with you there checking out the physio- assistants and Uncle Lester.
May the Peace of God and The Lord's Strength bring you through all this Derek and Marilyn.
