HOWELL, Captain Roland George - Passed away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Wednesday, September 10, 2003, Captain Roland George Howell of Carbonear, age 70 years. Predeceased by parents: Capt. Jesse and Jane Howell; step-mother: Annie Howell; brother: Sigmund; sister: Kate and her husband Robert Taylor; half brother: Lloyd Squires. Leaving to mourn wife: Betty; one son: Geoffrey (Joanne and her children Jessica and Jordan), Carbonear; two daughters: Janice (Malcolm) Seymour and their children Matthew and Adam, Denise (Ivan Slade), both of Carbonear; half brothers: Edward (Betty) Squires, James Squires, Charles (Joan) Squires, all of St. John's and Richard Squires, Ontario; two sisters-in-law: Vivian Howell and her daughter Darlene, Bell Island and Marie Squires, St. John's; step-sister: Viola (Ted) Newman, Mount Pearl; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, WATER STREET, CARBONEAR until 12:00 noon Saturday, September 13. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. No flowers by request; as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear or a charity of one's choice.
