Obituary of Mary Barnes

BARNES, Mary E. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, February 27, 2004, Mary E. Barnes of Harbour Grace, age 96 years. Predeceased by husband: Aneas; son: Peter; daughter: Philomena; son-in-law: Maurice; brothers: Felix, Albert and Fergus; sisters: Madeline and Bridget. Leaving to mourn one daughter: Theresa Walbourne, Harbour Grace; son-in-law: William (Yvonne) Sheppard, Harbour Grace; daughter-in-law: Shirley Barnes, Harbour Grace; eleven grandchildren: Jim, Philomena, Maurice, Irene, Peter, Evelyn, Cathy, William, Paul, Debbie and George; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter: Tia; one sister: Lizzie Penton, Fogo Island; sisters-in-law: Loretta Bryan and Winnie Bryan, both of Fogo Island; brother-in-law: Sylvester McKenna, Fogo Island; special niece: Mary Jordan, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, HARVEY STREET, HARBOUR GRACE and from where the funeral will take place on Monday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace. Flowers gratefully accepted, or as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Project Restoration Fund.
