Obituary of Annie Matthews

MATTHEWS, Annie Mildred (nee Rowe) - Passed peacefully away in the arms of her family at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Sunday, March 21, 2004, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Annie Mildred Matthews, in her 78th year. Predeceased by parents: Luther and Martha Rowe. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories is her beloved husband, Roland of 60 years; two sons: Ronald (Loretta) and Robert (Patricia), both of Manuels; three grandchildren: Debbie (Corey), Cathy (Tom) and Bobby (Michelle); four great-grandchildren: Victoria, Meghan, Samantha and Emily; sister: Flossie Head, Brownsdale; sister-in-law: Phyllis Eileen (Tom) Noel, Bridgeport; brother-in-law: Llewellyn (Florence) Matthews, Gull Island; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Hickey's Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Tuesday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to noon, 2 to 5 p.m., 7 to 9:30 p.m. Then resting at the United Church, Brownsdale on Wednesday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to noon and from where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the United Cemetery, Brownsdale. In lieu of flowers; as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Janeway Child Health Centre or to the Children's Wish Foundation.
