Obituary of John Penney

PENNEY, John H. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, May 17, 2004, John H. Penney of Salmon Cove, age 92 years. Predeceased by wife: Mildred; brothers: Gilbert, Clarence, Calvert, Ron and Clem; sister: Fanny. Leaving to mourn one daughter: Joyce (Norman) King, Victoria; five sons: Ronald (Lillian), Conception Bay South, Graham (Marie), Bristol's Hope, Warrick (Vivian), Carbonear, Lloyd (Joan) and Hayward (Sheila), both of Salmon Cove; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one brother: Freeman, Hamilton, ON; sisters-in-law: Anna Mary Penney and Ursula Penney, both of Salmon Cove, Mabel Kelloway, Interfaith Citizens Home, Carbonear and Mary Warford, Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, WATER STREET, CARBONEAR until 12:00 noon Wednesday, May 19. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church and Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers, as expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
